The students of Sir Syed University, Pakistan have developed a speed breaker capable of generating energy. This is the first in Asia and third of the world the best ramp design that has gained superiority over the companies in Uk, USA and Canada. Talking to a newspaper Khasrao Bakht told that group leader of the project is Tahsin Ilahi, while among others include Arsalan Zafar, Murtaza Mohud din, Asif Nawaz, Shoab Altaf and Khusro Bakht.
He said that when vehicle passes over the speed breaker the generator installed in it starts and and from the one push of the vehicle 240 watts energy is generated that can be stored in the battery. This latest system of producing electricity can be monitored by a single control system. And from this system 100 energy ramps can be installed and controlled easily. He told that the basic objective of the system is to control the traffic coming from wrong direction and to minimize the number of accidents. The electricity produced from speed breakers can be used for signal and street lights, as well as as u turn lights.
The speed breaker can be installed before zebra crossing. In addition, these can be installed on the exit and entrance ways of airports, shopping malls and toll plazas. This speed breaker is safe for the tires of the vehicles and with the light push the jumpers of the cars remain unaffected. The speed breaker developed with a cost of 2.5 lakh rupees is cheaper than the price of solar panel and wind mills.
